M7 and M8 are two connector on your device.
These two connector can turn on or off the voltage output (output voltage = DC input voltage) at any time when your device is running a task.
You can use M7 and M8 to control the solenoid valve to start air assist or open the exhaust fan schedule, etc.
The following is the NEJE 3 motherboard connector definition
The following is the NEJE 4 Max motherboard connector definition
The output voltage is equal to the DC input voltage.
For devices with hardware versions lower than v2.0.0, the current limit is 1A, short circuits and overloads may damage your control board.
For devices with hardware versions higher than or equal to v2.0.0, the current limit is 1A, short circuits and overloads will shut down the output and will not damage your control board.
For NEJE Max series devices, there are M7 M8 indicators. When M7 M8 turns on the output, the red indicator light will light up.
The indicator light is located at the corresponding M7 M8 connector.
Sending command M7 will turn on the M7 connector.
Sending command M8 will turn on the M8 connector.
Sending command M9 will close both M7 and M8 connector.
On Lightburn, M8 is turned on by default before starting a task.
If you would like to turn on M7 before starting a task, follow these steps:
Lightburn Menu -> Edit -> Device Settings -> Gcode
Input M7 at Start Gcode input box
On LaserGRBL, M7 M8 is not turned on by default.
If you want to turn on M7 M8 before starting the task, follow the steps below:
LaserGRBL Menu -> GRBL -> Settings -> Gcode
You can directly send M7 M8 M9 commands to test
Also, open Troubleshoot Center choose Extension Test
The M7 and M8 interfaces output DC voltage when turned on. Please do not drive the current greater than 1 ampere, otherwise the control board may be damaged.
The 1A current driving capability can directly control relays, solenoid valves and other devices, but cannot directly drive air compressors.
When connecting M7 M8 devices, please disconnect the power supply of the device, otherwise the control board may be damaged.
The current of the M7 M8 interface is not enough to drive the exhaust fan, but the M7 M8 interface can drive the relay, and the relay controls the operation of the exhaust fan.
